Pokemon Generations

Pokemon Generations was released on 9th of December 2016 and run until 2nd of Feb 2017,  it was based on the popular Pokemon video game series but a lot of the key details have been changed for example Pikachu is already with Ash Ketchum while in the actual game you have to catch him. Despite this, the Anime was still very popular in the Pokemon community.

God Eater is an anime based on the game of the same name published by Namco & Shit, the game it is a based on is a sci-fi adventure and I have to say that the God Eater anime does live up to that, the anime goes in with the view that not everyone has played the God Eater video game so it perfectly re-introduces all the characters, the back stories, and the settings.

Tales Of Zestiria The X

Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV

Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV was an anime aired in 2016, it had only 5 episodes but they were still very important as they set out the early history of Final Fantasy XV, the creators of the anime also opted to have a similar 2D animated design that is seen in most of the games.

Ace Attorney

Ace Attorney also known as Gyakuten Saiban, is based on the Capcom series with the same name. It has a whopping 24 episodes which are a lot of an average anime based on a video game. It is praised by many anime fans not just gamers as a very very good anime with excellent music, story, and atmosphere.

Halo Legends

Halo Legends was a bit of a fail, Halo is not very popular in the main market of anime which is Japan. Furthermore, the anime was not crafted very well it had good visuals and sound design but the story was lacking.

Panzer Dragoon

Panzer Dragoon was a video game from SEGA’s Saturn Console that did not prove to be very profitable, the anime is based on a distant future/fantasy setting and created by animation studio Studio Ghibli. The anime is again not good as due to its time it doesn’t have the same art style as animations were more advanced than game graphics however the story is somewhat interesting and will still make for a good watch.

Devil May Cry

The Devil May Cry anime was released in 2007 and was based on the the popular hack and slash series with the first game released in 2001. It revolves around the story of protagonist Dante who is a demon hunter looking for revenge over the death of his entire family. It was a good anime but it annoyed many fans of the video game as many of the characters including Dante were changed both in the way look and their personalities which in my opinion is not necessary you just have to make the story work well around the characters and after all the video game did just well with the characters presented to it.

Street Fighter 2 The Animated Movie

Now for once we have a great anime adaptation of a video game, the success of the anime can, of course, be attributed to the popularity of the Street Fighter series but also to do the fact that the video game despite trying doesn’t really explain the backstory of the characters too well and this is the fix that this anime managed to provide and we recommend it.

Persona 4 : The Animation sees you follow the story of teen protagonist Yu Narukami who moves to a new town infested with monsters murdering people all the time. What makes the anime great is that it sticks true to the awesome art from Persona 4 with all the bright colours and the characters unique look and design.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

In 2005 Japanese video game developer Square and Square Enix decided to venture into animations based on all of its popular video games following the success of Nintendo’s decision to make animes on its popular video games most particularly Pokemon. The only real weakness of the game is that it is hard to understand unless you have played a few of the Final Fantasy games and also read a bit about the lore of it all.
