The eSport industry is growing and in 2017 it reached a new high of $1.5 billion thanks to the success of Overwatch which is one of the most exciting eSport games right now with their success being attributed by their decision to base teams in cities allowing to bridge the gap between eSports and more traditional sports and create a sense of identity.

eSports is set to grow by 26% annually reaching potentially $2.3 billion in revenue in 2022 if not more as the industry is very unpredictable and who knows what new game will enter the eSport scene with many very exciting prospects with games such as Fornite Battle Royale and PUBG who have got hundreds of millions of players in under a year. Furthermore there is a weird new trend where there are 20 times more viewers of PUBG than there are players meaning that there is a massive base of viewers for the game making it very attractive.
The green is the player base and the blue is the number of viewers of PUBG. It is very exciting, as the industry grows more and more people will invest in the industry buying and founding new teams and pumping money into the industry thus making it more attractive to be a professional gamer.
