Far Cry 2

Far Cry 2 is an open world first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft for the Microsoft Windows operating system, the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 in October 2008. The video game is set in Africa and contains brand new characters not present in the first Far Cry video game. The game has a massive map that is made up of jungles, deserts and savannas. To be exact the game is set in a Central African nation during a civil war where the player is playing as a hired mercenary.

Street Fighter IV

Street Fighter IV is a fighting video game developed by Dimps and Capcom and published by Capcom. The game is set in many places around the world but has a record number of fighting fields in Africa for a Street Fighter video game, such as the Small Airfield Stage and the Solar Eclipse Stage.

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine is an action-adventure video game developed and published by LucasArts. The plot of the video game is set between those of Indiana Jones and the Iron Phoenix comic book and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull movie. The game takes places in a few different parts in the world, admittedly not all in Africa but the main events unfold in a tomb in the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan.

Sega Rally Revo

Sega Rally Revo is an offroad racing video game developed by SEGA Racing studios and published by SEGA in 2007. The game features over 30 different tracks with a lot of them based in Africa with 3 Safari tracks, 4 canyon tracks, and 9 tropical tracks.

Resident Evil 5

Resident Evil 5 is a third-person shooter video game developed and published by Capcom in 2009. The plot of the game follows Anti-Bioterrorism agents that are sent to the fictional town of Kijuju in Africa where the player playing as protagonist Chris Redfield who are trying to stop antagonist Ricardo Irving from selling his bio-organic weapon on the black market.

Sniper Elite 3

Sniper Elite 3 is a third person tactical shooter stealth video game developed by Rebellion Developments and published by  505 Games in 2014, with the game’s predecessor being set in WW2 and called Sniper Elite V2. Sniper Elite 3 is also set in WW2 but is set entirely in the action that took place in North Africa, with some of the game’s location being Lybia, Egypt and modern-day Tunisia.

Wildlife Tycoon: Venture Africa

Wildlife Tycoon: Venture Africa is a simulation video game set in safari park in Africa, with the actual location being unknown. The game is developed by Pocketwatch Games and published by MumboJames in 2005 with the game being a huge success with a development budget of just $8000 but selling over 65,000 copies. The video game features 11 animals and requires you to find a balance between the carnivores and herbivores with this not being a zoo game where you can just separate the animals using fences.

Overwatch

Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer first person shooter developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. The game features just one African character who is Offense hero Pharah who is from Egypt, the game features tons of maps for different styles of plays and objectives such as assauly map Hanamura which is set in Japan, Control map Nepal which is you guessed it set in Nepal and Numbani the only map currently set in Africa. The map is an Assault/Escort map that is set in the Nigerian savanna in a futuristic utopia.

Tarzan: Lord Of The Jungle

Tarzan: Lord Of The Jungle is a 2D action platformer developed by Eurocom studios and published by GameTrek for the Gameboy console in 1994. The game has 6 missions all set in Africa, where the player controls protagonist Tarzan. You are required to avoid obstables and enemies such as wild animals and evil poachers with the aim of finding the cure for the Great Ape of the Jungle.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is an action-adventure hack and slash video game developed by PlatinumGames and published by Konami Digital Entertainment for the Playstation 3, the Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. The game is set in a fictional African Country where the Prime Minister is attacked by a group known as the Desperado and its your job to save him and defeat the war companies profiting from war that are fighting against each other for the lucrative industry that is war.

The Lion King

The Lion King is a sidescrolling platformer video game based on Disney’s film of the same name, the video game is developed by Westwood Studios and published by Virgin Interactive Entertainment in 1994 for the Super NES and the Genesis. You play as protagonist Simba in a plot that very closely follows that of the Lion King movie, it is incorporated in the traditional platforming levels with new features such as Simba becoming an adult in the late and getting new abilities such as roaring, scratching, mauling and throwing objects.
